UTS Nursing Courses Approved for 2010
Universities: Posted 15-2-10 Deadline - No Deadline
UTS:Nursing Midwifery and Health have been successful in revising and renewing their undergraduate courses for 2010. As of the 1st of January 2010, the Nurses and Midwives Board of NSW has approved changes to the UTS Bachelor of Nursing and the combined Bachelor of Nursing Bachelor of Arts in International Studies courses. The new courses have been approved for 6 years, the maximum approval time given by the NMB. This is great news for new students entering the courses this year, as the approval reflects that the Bachelor of Nursing at UTS is of world class stature and is contemporary and responsive to external drivers in the health industry and the nursing profession. The new course structures focus on a combination of theoretical based learning, increased clinical practice and simulation. The teaching and learning focus is based on a patient centred approach, nursing leadership and community involvement with the excellent integration of simulation. Updated learning methodologies and clinical practice offers new students a more comprehensive learning experience that will increase graduate entry into the nursing and health profession both in Australia and internationally.

ATAR really low and want to go to University??
HSC: Posted 17-12-09 Deadline - No Deadline
If you have received a lower than hoped for ATAR and wanted to go to university, read on and if this applies to someone you know, please let them know. Your low ATAR may seem like the end of the world today and you may feel upset, angry and embarassed. If you or someone you know is in this situation, please seek advice. There are many options available. I have developed a list of things to consider to maximise your chances of getting into a unversity course and changing your preferences to UAC (eg considering regional points bonus schemes, various university HSC bonus point schemes etc) and quite a few alternative pathways to university. You can ring the school (67610800) to make an appointment or email me with a contact phone number and I will talk to you and your parents if they wish to discuss options open to you.

Bring lots of $5 and $10 notes to school on the day and not $50 notes. Put the date in your phone or diary as this will be your last chance to get some money back.
