The Diploma of Accounting will be offered full time and will take one year for students to complete. We are currently in negotiations with several universities so that students can enter into a Bachelor of Accounting/Finance upon completion of their diploma at Bedford College with credit into the degree. University Pathways and Success A record number of 2008 Bedford Graduates gained entry into university into business, commerce, early childhood and education degrees. Some of the universities include The University of Notre Dame, Charles Sturt University, University of Sydney, Macquarie University, University of Technology (UTS), University of Western Sydney, University of Wollongong, Australian Catholic University and University of New England. Most students have been able to gain at least one year credit toward their degree. At this stage, we have not had any students from 2008 who have been unable to gain entry into university.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I wish you and your families a happy and holy holiday season and look forward to communicating with you in 2009.

Order of Preferences!!! VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE
Universities: Posted 19-12-08 Deadline - No Deadline
Put your dream course first and one with a really low UAI as your "foot in the door" 9th preference. Remember that the UAIs that we see nowis UAC are for LAST YEAR and are NOT necessarily the ones for 2009 courses. These will not be known until Main Round offers in mid-January. All we can do is use the ones in the UAC book as a guide. Supply and demand will change many of them - either up or down. No one can know yet. Read the UAC book on preferences starting on p21 carefully before the close of Main Round offers on midnight 7th January.

UAIs and bonus/regional points
Universities: Posted 19-12-08 Deadline - No Deadline
The universities through UAC will automatically add any regional points bonuses or bonus UAIs you receive from gaining Band 5 or 6 in certain subjects. Remember to take these into consideration when listing your preferences. This is crucial. You may be eligibile for extra UAI points that might get you into a course that the UAI you have received would not get you into at the moment.
