Universities: Posted 9-9-15 Deadline - No Deadline
Southern Cross University has an exciting announcement for students interested in studying teacher education at university in 2016. Entry into our teaching degrees will be based on an indicative ATAR 70 or OP 13 with no additional prerequisite entry requirements. Our education degrees are combined with a Bachelor of Arts to ensure a comprehensive foundation for our Education students in relevant discipline areas like Mathematics, English and Science. We have also created pathway courses for students who may not yet have reached the academic level required to gain entry directly into a teaching degree. For students who are academically capable but don't quite reach the ATAR, we are offering the Bachelor of Educational Studies which has an indicative ATAR 60 or OP 15. Students who successfully complete the first 8 units of this degree, equivalent to one year of full-time study, can transfer into an SCU Education degree with full credit.

Students who need additional assistance to build their academic skills can apply for our fee-free Preparing for Success Program. After successfully completing this course in the first teaching session of 2016 they can apply to enter an education degree of their choice in second session. Students can choose from our innovative range of teaching degrees: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Primary/Early Childhood), Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Primary/Secondary), Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Secondary), Bachelor of Technology/Bachelor of Education (Secondary). Wollongong Early Entry - very important#####
Career Choice: Posted 9-9-15 Deadline - No Deadline
When students applied for Early Admission, they entered their year 11 and 12 academic marks; and at that point UOW ‘took their word for it’. The Early Admission Academic Marks Verification Document will be emailed to shortlisted applicants this week between 10 – 12 September. This document is how they prove that the academic results provided in their application are correct. The document will be a pdf that will be pre-filled with the details they entered in their application. It will be attached to the email. Students will need to follow the instructions so keep checking your emails for this.

Bonus Subject Points To UOW
Universities: Posted 9-9-15 Deadline - No Deadline
UOW knows that if Year 12 students do well in relevant HSC subjects, they will be better prepared for university. With Points to UOW, students can score up to three extra points for doing well in subjects relevant to their chosen UOW degree. To be eligible, students must be completing their HSC (or equivalent) in 2015, be receiving an ATAR, and complete relevant subjects. The best news is that there is no application! The Points to UOW program is facilitated via UAC—if students have a UAC preference for a UOW course and their performance in an HSC subject is in the specified band, points will be automatically added for that UOW preference.
For more information on the program, including a point’s calculator; please go to the Bonus Points website.
For more information, visit www.uow.edu.au/future/pointstouow/index.html#pointstouow

Regional Bonus 3 Points at Wolllongong Uni
Universities: Posted 9-9-15 Deadline - No Deadline
Students can also boost their points simply by attending a school in the local area—or in regional or remote NSW. If they complete the HSC at a school in UOW’s ‘drawing area’, or at a rural or remote school in NSW, they will receive three bonus points for each of their UOW preferences. This means students could be eligible for up to six Bonus Points when combined with Points to UOW. Again, this is all automatic, and there is no application. You are eligible for these by attending McCarthy.
