School leavers interested in a building/construction/carpentry apprenticeship: TAFE New England – Tamworth Campus are offering a short course in Carpentry. The course has been designed to cater for students who are leaving, or considering leaving school and who may be interested in an apprenticeship in the building industry. The building industry is currently in high demand and TAFE have had a number of enquiries from local Tamworth builders seeking apprentices. Therefore, TAFE are providing students with an introduction to the carpentry trade in an effort to prepare them for potential employment opportunities over the vacation period and possibly a formal apprenticeship. The course is funded by State Training Services therefore no enrolment fee applies. Places are limited and TAFE are seeking keen and enthusiastic students who are genuinely interested in the building industry trades.
