Universities: Posted 14-2-17 Deadline - No Deadline
Bond University College in 2017: Bond recognises that the traditional linear pathway from secondary school into university is not the same for all students. As every student is different, so too is every journey. Since 2007, Bond College, as the inaugural academic pathway provider for Bond University, has been offering pathway programs to bridge the gap and support the transition to further studies. From 2017, with an augmented program offering, Bond University College, will continue this valuable service. The programs will include a range of diplomas for students who have completed Year 12 in Business, Communication, Criminology, Legal Studies, International Hotel and Tourism Management, Sports Management, Sustainable Environments and Planning, and Health Sciences. The program offerings will also include the Bond University Preparation Program for students without a Year 12 graduation equivalency.

A message from UAC's Facebook page
UAC: Posted 15-12-16 Deadline - No Deadline
Are you one of the tens of thousands of NSW HSC students itching to find out your ATAR tomorrow? We'll be releasing ATARs at 9am on our site and in My UAC, our mobile app. You'll need your HSC student number/UAC application number and your UAC PIN to log in. If you've applied through us, your UAC application number will be on your Confirmation of Application. You can also receive a reminder of your UAC PIN through Check & Change on our site by entering your UAC application number, selecting ‘Forgotten your UAC PIN?’ and following the prompts to have it emailed. Your HSC student number is printed on your School Certificate Record of Achievement and your school will have a record of it. You can also call BOSTES. If you haven’t applied yet, call us today between 8.30am and 4.30pm on 1300 275 822 or (02) 9752 0200 from mobiles and we'll help you. ATAR notices will also arrive in the post from Monday 19 December. If you have questions about your ATAR after you receive it you can call our ATAR Enquiry Centre and speak to an expert who can give you some guidance. The Centre will be available on 1300 692 827 from 9am tomorrow morning. For students who haven’t applied, it’s not too late! Applications for university study in first semester 2017 are open until Friday 10 February.

You CAN change preferences after ATARs are out!
UAC: Posted 15-12-16 Deadline - No Deadline
Remember you can change your preferences once you know your ATAR. Put your dream course as your first preference and then include more realistic choices at the same uni or similar courses at other universities based on last year's ATAR cut-offs. Contact me if you want to talk about your options or contact the university you wish to attend or the Careers Advisory Centre or UAC.
For more information, visit www.uac.edu.au

Your ATAR - what to do if it is lower than hoped?
Universities: Posted 15-12-16 Deadline - No Deadline
When ATARs are released by UAC at 9am tomorrow, you may be happy with your ATAR and know it will get you into the university course you want to do. However, each year many students are disappointed and shocked by their ATAR which is much lower than they expected or wanted. Please do not be too discouraged. If this is the case, I know of entry pathways and options for you depending on where you want to go and what you want to do. I just need to know that you need advice. Either you, a parent or a friend needs to contact me - ring the school or email me directly to set up a meeting. PLEASE do not sit home feeling devastated. There is always another pathway - it may take longer or lead you down a different route to get to where you want to go. These options and pathways exist but you may not know about them. I do. Just ask.

HSC results are out with ATARs released at 9am
UAC: Posted 15-12-16 Deadline - No Deadline
Please remember that your HSC marks show the standard you achieved. The ATAR is calculated from your raw marks that are then scaled. So two totally different numbers with different purposes. Getting most of your marks in the mid-low 70s or 60s will NOT result in ATARs of 60s and 70s. https://www.facebook.com/sydneymorningherald/videos/10154955076706264/

For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/sydneymorningherald/videos/10154955076706264/

Good luck with your HSC results and ATAR!

UAC Advice on Subject Bonus Points
UAC: Posted 14-12-16 Deadline - No Deadline
Some UAC institutions may allocate bonus points in recognition of your performance in Year 12 subjects that are relevant to the course/s for which you have applied. These are subject bonus points. Bonus points do not change your ATAR; they change your selection rank for a particular course or institution. As the bonus points schemes for each institution, and often for each course, are different, your selection rank can be different for each course you list in your course preferences.
