Wollongong's Early Entry/ accommodation guarantee
Universities: Posted 23-8-11 Deadline - No Deadline
Patrick from UOW sent this: Just a quick update on UOW’s Early Entry Program. To start, the big news is: If students apply for UOW Accommodation by September 16 (including paying the application fee) and receive a GUARANTEED Early Entry offer – the Accommodation will also be guaranteed for these students. So the timeline for students is:Apply for early Entry - www.uow.edu.au/future/earlyentry Applications close 5pm September 1. Apply for UOW Accommodation - http://www.uow.edu.au/about/accommodation/index.html they should do this by September 16.The first round of offers/rejections are out in the mail Friday September 23 (due to arrive in mail boxes the week of Monday September 26) these letters will be to the students who have done extremely well on paper and the faculties are comfortable making an offer based just on this – or students who clearly don’t meet the criteria, and are not suitable for an interview.September 26 – September 30: Interview week, faculties will liaise with students via the email address the students registered with. This is why it’s important the students uses a real email address, and check it! Obviously some students will not be able to make it to these interviews, though we really encourage them to come. We can be flexible with these students and they should call us to make arrangements once they receive their invitation (we ask that they don’t call us before this, because it can slow the process down). Any student invited to the Law faculty’s on-campus event will be required to be here in person (i.e., they have to come!).UOW Early Entry offers will start being sent the week after the interviews, and will be sent out no later than October 14. Faculties send out offers in batches, so some students will hear back before others. It is important that students don’t ‘chase up’ the faculties because this will slow down the process. Please assure them they will hear by Friday 14/10/11.Any guaranteed offer includes advice that students must sit the HSC and do as well as they can – otherwise UOW reserves the right to rescind the offer. And as mentioned, any GUARANTEED Early Entry Offer will include guaranteed Accommodation IF the student has applied for UOW Accommodation before the offers go out (this is why I recommend they apply no later than September 16).
